July Calendar Girl from Al Moore - Esquire Calendar Girl July 1951 - Moore followed Vargas at Esquire and added a different perspective with his artwork. His calendar girls represented the season well with their costumes like our Hawaiian grass skirted lady here. Moore’s style was very similar to Ernest Chiriaka and sometimes difficult to distinguish between the two. “On the July shore, a sight for sore, Strumming a Hawaiian’ cello. Wearing a grass skirt, almost no shirt - Sorry, she’s got a fellow!”
